FAQs

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What does TAG stand for?

TAG stands for Trauma Access Gates. “Gates” are part of how we conceptualize the journey we go on with our clients, as are “keys” and “pathways.”

Do I need to be a licensed clinician to learn The TAG Method?

NO! We specifically have created The TAG Method for just about anyone who wants to be an agent of healing and change in the world. We love to have students and body/energy workers and even HR managers learn The TAG Method.

Will the classes be live?

YES! Every class we teach is live via Zoom with Katherine and Maria. You won’t be watching videos of us; we will be interacting dynamically each and every time we meet. Plus, we limit the size of our classes to 20 attendees to ensure personal, customized attention and to make sure that we know that you have really gotten the concepts and information before moving on to another topic. Try that in a 3,000+ attendee video “presentation”.

What if I want to take the In-depth course after I have taken a 2-day?

We have seen that many graduates desire the deep dive of the full In-depth course after having taken a 2-day training so we offer a $500 discount off the In-depth course to anyone who has already completed a 2-day training.

What if I can’t finish the course?

We realize that life happens, and we are willing to work with attendees on an individual basis when something crops up. But typically, once the course begins there are no refunds. We may be able to hold a spot for you in an upcoming class instead.

Is there a community of TAG Method practitioners?

YES! This is a major piece that was a mandatory for us when we designed The TAG Method. We have a monthly free Consult Group for all graduates to pop in and share success stories, challenging cases, and to connect with a community of open-hearted support. Plus, Katherine and Maria are always available to graduates for personal 1:1 consults for challenging cases.

How Do I Know Which Training to Take?

There are two major differences between our three trainings.

The first is: do you currently provide Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (or other medicines)? If so, our TAG for KAP 2-Day Workshop is likely the one you want.

If not, the second difference relates to how trauma knowledgeable you are. Everyone has their own definition of this. This is ours:

XXXXXX

If you believe you fit our definition, then you are a great candidate for the 2-Day TAG for Nervous System Regulation Workshop.

If you think you could benefit from more trauma knowledge, then our In-Depth Course is perfect.

What is a typical TAG session like?

Are there CEs available?

Yes. The 2-day trainings are eligible for 13 CEs and the In-Depth Course has 40 CEs available for completing the full course. And some of our 2-hour workshops have 2 CEs available as well.

Is there Financial Aid or Scholarships for The TAG Method Trainings?

Currently we are registered with VSAC (www.vsac.org) if you live and work in Vermont which can cover a major percentage of the training fees, up to $3,000. At this time unfortunately the answer is no for other students, but we do have the vision and desire to be able to offer financial aid and/or scholarships in the future.

How is The TAG Method different from Brainspotting?

Just like how Brainspotting was born out of EMDR but was different enough to need its own name, The TAG Method evolved from Brainspotting but is different enough to need its own name. We have drastically simplified the concept and approach, we teach attunement in a real way, and we get practitioners out of their heads so clients can have better healing experiences. There are no set-ups or protocols. Our focus is on how to create the conditions for your client’s body and brain to do what they do best, heal.

In the TAG Method in-depth course, we also weaves in the best parts of many other models getting the trainee a real toolbox that is easily accessible right away.

Will I be a Certified Brainspotting or IFS practitioner at the end?

No. We have just taken the best gems, just small bits of many models and introduce just those bits in The TAG Method trainings. Katherine and Maria have attended trainings of all the model bits we present, we just typically haven’t gone further towards certification due to the bulkiness and protocol-laden nature of many models.

Our commitment to you: There is no AI in anything that we present or produce. Any and all content is gathered, compiled, synthesized and presented by us. Our website, book, and class materials are all AI-free.
